Hello Neighbor,

After 31 amazing years, the Queen Anne Collective is passing the torch on hosting the Annual Bigelow Block Sale! A huge thank you to these three incredible women—Rene Stern, Kim Wesselman, and Mary Lee—for all they have done to make this such a special event over the years.

This year, Waddle | Fletcher Homes is grateful and honored to step in and support the 32nd Annual Bigelow Block Sale. Like the Queen Anne Collective, we are proud members of the Windermere family, and we can’t wait to continue this beloved tradition.

A little about us—we are a married couple and have called Queen Anne home for nearly 15 years! We have two young children (ages 3 and 6) and stay actively involved in the community through Queen Anne Elementary, Little League, Bethany Presbyterian, and the Chamber of Commerce. We’re also avid Seattle sports fans (go Seahawks!) and post-pandemic, have loved building our real estate business after transitioning from careers in educational administration and corporate strategy leadership.

We welcome all who have participated in the Block Sale in years past, as well as newcomers who want to join in the fun! The event will take place as always on the first Saturday in June—June 6th, from 9am–3pm.

The participation fee will remain the same—just $25. The QA Collective has shared that the expenses associated with hosting the event typically exceed the amount collected (roughly $2,000). A few of the costs include printing, postage, kids’ face painting, balloons, and yard marketing/signage.

Despite event expenses, Waddle | Fletcher Homes is committed to donating 50% of all participation fees to the Southeast Seattle Schools Fundraising Alliance (SESSFA)—we will cover any overages.

As a family raised by educators, we care deeply about advancing educational equity across Seattle. Many of the schools supported by SESSFA are Title I schools.  We believe every child deserves access to strong academic programs, enrichment opportunities, and community support—regardless of their zip code.

You can learn more about SESSFA here: https://www.sessfa.org/.

One Big Change This Year: We are moving to online registration! No hard copies need to be sent to the office. Please register for the event at the event website: https://bigelowblocksale.wixsite.com/queenanne

Once you have completed online registration, the $25 payment can be made via Venmo (@MW-Homes) or feel free to reach out via text/email and we can coordinate a check handoff.

If you have any questions—please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re looking forward to another 31 years of fun, community, and memories in our incredible neighborhood together!
